A Warm Welcome, My name's Baz, I've been a metal detectorist for forty years and, fortunate to have found many interesting historic items, including the coins and artefacts illustrated here. The hobby of metal detecting has done much to increase our knowledge of the diversity, quantity, and distribution of ancient metalwork. Every object recovered from the soil is saved from further deterioration and potential plough damage. Being fair with landowners and obtaining permission to search must take priority. The majority finds on this site were made in the county of Yorkshire, any comments are appreciated. |
