Hello,
Thanks for looking in, you are very welcome.
The coins and artefacts illustrated here
were rescued from pasture and ploughland
in the county of Yorkshire, with the aid of a
metal detector.
The word 'rescued' may sound dramatic,
but it is a fact that chemicals, which have
played such an important role in modern
agriculture, accelerate the deterioration
of buried metals. The probability of items
being plough damaged must also be taken
into consideration.  It is likely therefore that
these objects would be in much poorer
condition had they still been in the ground
today.
