Legend tells us that a she wolf saved and nursed Romulus and Remus, the sons of Mars. Romulus founded Rome on the 21st of April 753 B.C. This coin is a commemorative issue struck around A.D. 330, and shows the wolf suckling the twin brothers.

The coin is composed of copper alloy and shown at 3 x actual size.
