Coins of this type are among the   earliest to have circulated, at a  time when Britain was divided
into eight Celtic tribal areas.
After the Roman invasion in
A.D.43 they continued to be
used alongside Roman coinage.
But after Boudicca's uprising in
A.D.60 they were no longer
allowed to circulate
